Our chapter actively supports our past, present, and future service members who protect our liberty and defend our nation by:

  • Supporting all high school JROTC programs in our community and awarding the JROTC medal to the outstanding senior in each unit annually
  • Participating in Wreaths Across America
  • Donating food, clothing, books, and personal supplies to the veterans' hospitals in our community
  • Participating in Veterans Day memorial activities that include laying wreaths at local cemeteries
  • Helping celebrate Veterans Day at the Redondo Beach Veterans Park
  • Giving support to United Service Organization (USO) activities, including providing comfort items and food to the Bob Hope USO at Los Angeles International Airport for military personal and families in transit
  • Providing financial assistance to Project Patriot, a DAR national initiative to support active-duty military
  • Giving quilts for wounded soldiers at Landstuhl Hospital in Germany
  • Participating in baby showers for active military women

An important part of our chapter heritage is our support of both local and national projects related to genealogical preservation such as:

  • Contributed to the restoration of several paintings at the DAR Museum in the national headquarters in Washington, D.C.
  • Financially supporting the California State Society Daughters of the American Revolution (CSSDAR) State Regent's Project annually
  • Donated to multiple projects both at the state and national levels that focus on historical preservation and education
  • Participated in the collection of privately held papers: bibles, military papers, and land deeds
  • Involved in indexing supporting documentation for DAR membership applications/supplementals
  • Indexing for books and materials being added to the DAR Library in Washington, D.C.
  • Participated in the refurbishment of the office for the Organizing Secretary General at DAR Headquarters in Washington, D.C.

We recognize the importance of our history and participate yearly in ceremonies that celebrate these important moments that shaped our nation such as:

  • Ask that our local communities recognize the importance of Constitution Week by issuing proclamations in support of the anniversary of the Constitution
  • Attend naturalization ceremonies and provide our new citizens with copies of historical documents and flags
  • Encourage participation in anniversary celebrations of American historic events
  • Nominate candidates for the Americanism Medal of Honor that is awarded by NSDAR every year.  Recently we had our nominee receive this award
  • Donated copies of historical documents to be mounted and displayed in schools and community centers around our local area
  • Participate in the Armed Forces Day parade
