Multiple Scholarships Granted
To provide educational resources for graduating seniors in the South Bay Communities of Los Angeles who are pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor’s degree.
Each year the chapter reaches out to all the college counselors at the high schools in our district and provides information including the scholarship application. Please contact your current college counselor. If they do not have the current information, Contact Us.

One Scholarship Granted
The goal of the DAR Good Citizens program is to encourage and reward the qualities of good citizenship. The El Redondo Chapter, NSDAR, gives DAR Good Citizens awards to the recipients from all participating area high schools at a special program each March. Outstanding Teacher of American History Award |

Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) medals are awarded to student cadets of outstanding ability and achievement in high school, junior college, college, or university ROTC programs of the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marine Corps.
Gold ROTC Medal: This medal is awarded to a graduating college or university student being commissioned in one of the U.S. Armed Services. Bronze ROTC Medal: This medal is awarded to either a junior or senior student in a high school/secondary school Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps (JROTC) program or to a Junior College graduating senior.

Each school’s DAR Good Citizens award recipient receives a DAR Good Citizens pin, certificate, and wallet recognition card. The top winner for those high schools in our district receives the scholarship outlined above. The student is then eligible, if he/she wishes, to enter the DAR Good Citizens Scholarship Contest. This award was established to recognize a notable, full-time teacher of American History in the public, private, and parochial schools, grades five through twelve. The candidate must teach in South Bay Communities. The educator must have an incisive knowledge of American history that he/she readily shares with students; fosters a spirit of patriotism and loyal support of our country and constitutional government; demonstrates the ability to relate history to modern life and events; has high academic standards, requiring excellence at all times from students. |
