What is DAR?

DAR is a women’s volunteer service organization dedicated to promoting historic preservation, education, patriotism, and honoring the Patriots of the American Revolutionary War.

We sponsor DAR Good Citizen Essay contests and chapter scholarships annually, as well as other awards to promote education.

We participate in a wide variety of projects in our community because we feel it is crucial to saving our history for future generations.

We promote the idea of love of country and we support our current and retired military and their extended families who help us.

             El Redondo Chapter, National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) welcomes any woman that is 18 years or older to join,                                                        regardless of race, religion, or ethnic background, who can prove lineal descent from a patriot of the American Revolution.                                          For more information on how to join click below.

As part of our commitment to supporting Veterans Organizations, the El Redondo Chapter is encouraging everyone to donate to Wreaths Across America.
 
Five years ago, NSDAR announced that they have become a corporate sponsor for Wreaths Across America.  As a part of this initiative, they encourage Chapters to "Sign up to lead a fundraising group, soliciting donations from friends and neighbors to donate a wreath at your local cemetery."
